9.15pm Modern Languages: the next five years…, Professor Martin Harris (Chairman of the Governers of CILT and Vice-Chancellor Designate, University of Manchester)
Sir Martin Harris became President of Clare Hall, Cambridge in 2008 and finished his five-year term at the college in July 2014. He remains an Honorary Fellow of the School of African Studies in London, where he completed his PhD in Genereal Linguistics and Phonetics.

11.15am Satellite Television and Technology in Language Teaching: the ESTEL project and the Bangor experience, Dr Ben Fisher (University College of North Wales)
Ben Fisher was an undergraduate at Selwyn College, Cambridge. After his completing his degree at Bangor, he remained at the university where he was at Lecturer in French. He was also Director of the innovative ESTEL project which brought multilingual satellite television into schoolrooms across Wales. Ben Fisher died in 2009.
