Anthony Simpson represented Northamptonshire as a Conservative MEP from 1979 to 1987, and then again between 1989 and 1994.
9.30am Allegory and Symbol – some aspects of medieval literary practice, Professor R.A. Wisbey (King’s College London)
R.A. Wisbey was a Fellow of Downing College, Cambridge before becoming Professor of German at King’s College London. He was a pioneer in what is now known as Digital Humanities, founding the Centre for Literary and Linguistic Computing at Cambridge in 1963. Subsequently, the Centre became the Association for Literary and Linguistic Computing, and later the European Association for Digital Humanities.
